Welcome to the Polk GOP Election Express
Voting may or may not be on your mind, (after all we are in the middle of summer and you may not be counting down to November 5th) - we are here to help you be VOTER READY
There are two ways to cast your ballot: early voting or at the polls. If you have never participated in early voting we want you to consider it as an option. We will educate you on the easy steps!
What would happen if you:
had an unexpected illness on election day?
were on vacation and stuck in an airport?
had an unexpected hospitalization?
a death in the family?
don't have transportation to the polls?
Inclement weather? (yes snowstorms in November have happened)
Do we have your attention to at least consider learning how easy it is to get an early voting ballot? Polk County Elections Office has a website that explains how easy it is to early vote, including the request form you can print and drop off or mail in. YOU MUST REQUEST A BALLOT.
This link will provide step by step short videos that will guide you through the process and the laws governing early voting ballots.
Iowa laws have been strengthened by our Republican Legislature and signed into law over the last few years by Governor Reynolds. Security of the vote is most important to our elected officials as well as it is to you. Election Security in Iowa
The Iowa Secretary of State provides other links to be sure you are Voter Ready including how to find your polling location. Watch for our newsletters in the coming months for more information on voting, information on our candidates and much more!
Be Voter Ready!
From the Chair:
We will be providing you with all the information that you will need to get through this very important election season. Including Important Dates, Absentee Ballot Requests, Voter Registration, Early Voting Info, Candidate Information and much more!
Not to mention, we will let know how you can lend a helping hand to a Republican candidate by requesting a yard sign, canvassing or supporting them in other ways to help them win.
We also need Republicans to work at the polls as either a poll watcher or a paid election worker. These are critical jobs that insure our election is run safely and smoothly. Either one is an important way to make sure our votes are safeguarded. Ready to help? Need more info? Hit the link! https://pollworker.iowa.gov/
